The AbleGamers Foundation Opens Its 2012 Children's Grant Program. Harpers Ferry, WV -August 7, 2012- The AbleGamers Foundation is proud to announce the 2012 Children's Grant Program. One child with special needs will receive assistive technology he or she needs to play video games despite their disability. "Thrilled doesn't quite describe how I feel about the foundation being able to give away these grants," said Mark Barlet, President and Founder of the AbleGamers Foundation. "It's thanks to the outstanding generosity of our financial supporters that we are able to continue doing these grants. I am extremely optimistic that as more people find out about our wonderful community and amazing foundation that we will be able to not only continue giving out these grants but give them out more often." "I couldn't be happier that our next grant will be going to a child in need," said Steve Spohn, Editor-In-Chief of the AbleGamers Foundation's community website. "Children are endearing to everyone, but especially to those of us who grew up disabled. We appreciate and know all too well how difficult it is growing up disabled. I hope this provides a little bit of joy for a child who really needs it." About The AbleGamers Foundation The AbleGamers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that runs AbleGamers.com, which provides news and reviews on the accessibility of mainstream video game titles, as well as consultation on assistive technology.
